For complete program information, obtaining vouchers and borrowing humane traps, and trapping guidelines, contact the ACS Community Cat Program Coordinator at 210-207-6696 or email acsccp@sanantonio.gov. Visit ACS’ website for more information and learn about T-N-R (Trap, Neuter, Return), the most effective, humane, and only scientifically-proven method to control cat populations.

All community cats in San Antonio can be spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and ear-tipped for FREE at The City of San Antonio’s Animal Care Services (ACS). No zip code restrictions! ACS’ address is 4710 State Highway 151, San Antonio, 78227

Cats must be at least two pounds and two months of age. Cats can reproduce as young as five months old so make an appointment for kittens as soon as, or before they can be fixed, since there are waits for appointments.

Appointments are required and cats must be in a wire humane trap or wire transport carrier. Cats in soft, plastic, or kennels (wire or plastic) aren’t accepted. Surgeries are Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays at the ACS clinic at 4710 State Highway 151, San Antonio, 78227. Maximum of 2 cats per appointment.

See our tips for using humane cat traps on our Trapping Feral Cats page.

Also in 2023, cats and dogs in 17 San Antonio zip codes can be fixed for FREE at several different clinics and shelters. All the details of this FREE spay/neuter grant for San Antonio pets are here. Make appointments as soon as possible as there is a long wait.

If you live in The Cannoli Fund’s King William and Lavaca service area, we loan humane cat traps, help with trapping, get appointments, and can provide transportation for cats to and from the clinic. Learn more about this free service on the Community Cat Carpool page.
