free spay san antonioCommunity cats in 14 San Antonio zip codes are eligible for FREE spay or neuter and vaccinations at Animal Care Services (ACS)! The zip codes covered by this 2017 city program are: 78201,  78207,  78210,  78213,  78221,  78223,  78227,  78228,  78229,  78237,  78242,  78245, 78250, and 78251. This program targets the zips where the city has determined there are the highest number of community cats.

If you live in one of those zip codes, you are eligible for a free cat trap and spay/neuter services from ACS. Cats will also receive rabies and FVRCP vaccinations. Their left ears will also be tipped. Ear tipping is the removal of the very top portion of a feral (not socialized to humans) cat’s left ear. This clearly and permanently marks the cat as being sterilized.

You must have vouchers for this program. Pick then up in advance at ACS, 4710 State Highway 151, San Antonio, 78227. Surgeries are only done on Thursday, Friday, and Saturdays at the ACS clinic. No appointment needed. First come, first served.

For complete program information, obtaining vouchers and borrowing traps, and trapping guidelines, contact the ACS Community Cat Program Coordinator at 210-207-6696 or email acsccp@sanantonio.gov. Visit ACS’ website for additional information and about T-N-R (Trap, Neuter, Return), the most effective method of controlling cat populations. See our tips for using humane cat traps on our Trapping Feral Cats page.
