If you live in, or have noticed stray cats in, The Cannoli Fund’s King William and Lavaca (and now surrounding neighborhoods!) service area, we loan humane cat traps, help with trapping, get appointments, and can provide transportation for cats to and from the clinic. For other San Antonio residents, the City of San Antonio’s FREE feral cat TNR program details for obtaining vouchers and borrowing humane traps, trapping guidelines, etc are on their website. T-N-R (Trap, Neuter, Return) has been proven to be the most effective, humane, and only scientifically-proven method to control cat populations. All community cats in San Antonio can be spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and ear-tipped for FREE at The City of San Antonio’s Animal Care Services (ACS). No zip code restrictions! Cats must be at least two pounds and two months of age. Cats can reproduce as young as five months old so make an appointment for kittens as soon as, or before they can be fixed, since there are waits for appointments. Only two cats can be brought for services at a time with this program.
Appointments are required and cats must be in a wire humane trap or wire transport carrier. Cats in soft, plastic, or kennels (wire or plastic) aren’t accepted. Surgeries are at the ACS clinic at 4710 State Highway 151, San Antonio, 78227.
