Thanks to donors’, volunteers’, and neighbors’ kind words, The Cannoli Fund has been honored as a 2016 Top-Rated Nonprofit by GreatNonprofits, the leading provider of user reviews about nonprofit organizations. The Cannoli Fund, an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serving the King William and Lavaca neighborhoods of San Antonio, started in 2011.
The 2016 Top-Rated Nonprofit award was based on the large number of positive reviews. One neighbor wrote, “The Cannoli Fund is an essential group in managing my neighborhood’s stray cat population and animal health. They are always available and always willing to help with any animal concerns, and are committed to supporting neighbors with stray cat, dog, and pet concerns. It has truly been a pleasure working with them, and a joy to have them as a neighborhood institution.” Other reviewers posted their pet’s story and photos and the way The Cannoli Fund assisted in improving their pet’s quality of life. The mission of The Cannoli Fund is to improve the lives of animals in the King William and Lavaca neighborhoods of San Antonio, with an emphasis on controlling the population, by: providing advice, resources, and financial assistance for spaying and neutering of companion and community cats and dogs; assisting with medical care for animals in need; and educating the community on the humane treatment of animals. “Savvy donors want to see the impact of their donations more than ever,” said Perla Ni, CEO of GreatNonprofits, “People with direct experience with The Cannoli Fund have voted that the organization is making a real difference.” The reviews posted also appear on the organization’s silver GuideStar profile.
